Yummy maths

Today we were doing some more work about shapes.

We made shapes again but this time we used pretzel sticks and marshmellows.

The pretzel sticks showed us how many sides the shapes have.

The marshmellows showed us how many corners the shapes have.

Look at the amazing shapes we made.

Can you count the sides and corners?

The best thing about this maths was that we got to eat it at the end!!!

Slippery Fish

Room 14 are really excited about our trip to the Island bay marine centre on November 25th.

We have started learning about the Rocky Shore and thinking about sea creatures.

This week we learnt a song called Slippery Fish.

Then we all painted some gorgeous fish pictures.

Here is a preview of some of them.

You can see them all hanging up in our classroom.

Here is the Slippery fish song.

You might like to sing a long with us and even have a go at doing the actions.

Learning about shapes

This term we are learning about geometry and we have started looking at 2D shapes.

Today we talked about all the shapes we know and their attributes - how many sides, corners etc.

We had a go at making shapes with sticks.

Later on we sorted, coloured and counted different shapes.

Help us at home to do some shape finding and making.
We love learning about shapes!
