A visit from Nibbles

Today Nibbles, our class guinea pig came for a visit.

Nibbles has been living away from school since the flood.

It was so good to see her again and we all got to have a little cuddle and a pat.

We did a brainstorm of describing words about Nibbles and then we wrote some stories.

Some of us published our stories on pic collage on the ipads.

Have a look at our great writing -

Mrs Wishy Washy

This week in Room 14 we have been reading the big book called Mrs Wishy Washy.

One of our focuses for reading has been reading with expression.
We have been doing this in our shared reading as a class.
Here we are reading the story with lots of expression and actions.

Some of us have been trying really hard to read out loud to an audience using expression and a loud voice.

I think we are getting pretty good.

We are also trying to use expression on our faces.

We made some Mrs Wishy Washy pictures and took photos of us using different expressions on our faces.

Can you guess the expressions we are using?

Then we had lots of fun working together and following instructions to make some yummy Mrs Wishy Washy mud.

Then we got to jump our animals in and taste Mrs Wishy Washy's mud.

"Oh lovely mud," we said.

Run, run .....

This week in Room 14 our word of the week has been 'can'.

We have been reading some gingerbread man stories because he says -
"Run, run as fast as you can."

We have had a lot of fun reading different versions of the story and seeing the different characters and different endings to the story.

Some of us made puppets and acted out the story.

On Friday we read the poem about the gingerbread man.

Then we wrote our spelling word 'can' on paper bags, looking carefully at the way to form the letters.
We also had to cut out the letters in the word can and stick them on our bags.

After that was the fun part.

We decorated some gingerbread men to eat for our afternoon tea.
We had to put icing on then a face and buttons using chocolate drops and pebbles.

YUM YUM!!

Tennis and PMP

This term for PE we have been learning some tennis skills.

We have been playing warm up games and then learning to balance the ball on our racquets.

We have also learnt about the different parts of the tennis racquet.

Our next step is to learn how to hit the ball with our tennis racquet.

Look how amazing we are at balancing our balls on our racquets.

We are also doing PMP this term.

PMP helps us to move our bodies in different ways that help our brains to work.

We do a lot of different activities at PMP - here are some pictures of some of the things we have been doing so far.
