ANZAC Discovery Day

Today we had a Discovery Day learning about Anzac Day.

We read several stories and watched videos.

We talked about the things we already knew about Anzac Day.

Then we made some things.

We did some Anzac poppy paintings.

We made our own felt poppy brooches to wear.
We had to order the size of the circles from biggest to smallest.

We made some New Zealand flags and waved them in our own parade.

We also made some of our own medals.  We are waiting them to dry before we wear them.

After morning tea we made some ANZAC biscuits.

We followed the recipe and all had turns at adding ingredients, stirring, mixing,  rolling and flattening our biscuits.

Look at how yummy our cookies turned out.
We even designed our own packaging for our cookies.

Maybe we could make some at home over the ANZAC weekend.
