Making telescopes

This term we are learning about SPACE.

Today we watched some youtube clips about the stars and constellations.

We then made some telescopes to look at our own stars and constellations.

It was quite a lot of work.

We had to cover our cardboard tubes with coloured paper.
Then we decorated them with stars and planet stickers.
Afterwards we covered the end of the tube with tin foil and poked some holes to make our own constellations - we had to be very careful to only put small holes in.

We did all these things by ourselves.
We needed to use a lot of skills to do this and sometimes it was a bit of a challenge but we all tried hard and learnt that we could do it ourselves.

The best part was looking through our telescopes and seeing what we could see.
