The day the teddies escaped

For our maths strand this term we have been learning about statistics.

We have been learning to sort and graph information and talk about what we have found out.

One way that helps us sort and count our data is to make tally charts.

Today in Room 14 the coloured teddy bears escaped.

We had to look all around to find them - inside and outside the classroom.

We made tally charts of the different coloured teddy bears when we found them.

Here we are with our clipboards finding the teddy bears and recording our findings on our tally charts.

When we came back inside we made a graph with all the teddy bears we had found.  We counted them and then transferred the information onto our own graphs.

We found out that the 11 of the lost teddy bears were red - that was the most.
It was the tallest line on our graph.
5 of the lost teddy bears were green - that was the least.
It was the shortest line on our graph.

I wonder if those teddy bears will escape again!
